Blues, Brews, and Barbecue – Jackson Mississippi

For the most part, Jackson flies under the radar.  Turns out the city really does have soul.

What most people know of Mississippi’s state capital might be just what they gather from movies, songs, or hearsay.  Sucks for them.  Jackson, nestled just south of the middle of the state about two hours to the coast and New Orleans, is a hot spot for deep southern culture.

The food is amazing, the winter warm enough, and the people – oh the people – are the truest embodiment of southern charm you’ll find anywhere else in the country.

Thankfully we spent nearly a week here eating and drinking our way through the city.  It was amazing, and we met some truly amazing people.  Below we will accumulate the stories, reviews, and features of our travels to the “City with Soul” for you to read while we are busy planning our next trip back!

Lucky Town Brewing Company

We ended our trip at Lucky Town Brewing Company where we met the movers and shakers of Jackson’s beer scene. What a way to leave!
